The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s Centre of Excellence has given clearance to Sanju Samson to restart his role as a wicket-keeper-batsman.
Samson missed Rajasthan Royals’ first three games in the Indian Premier League 2025. He was suffering from a right index finger injury.
In his absence, Ryan Parag led RR. However, he failed to win even a single match out of three in total.
Under Parag’s leadership, Rajasthan lost the games against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings.
Samson reached Bengaluru from Guwahati to get the clearance to play from the BBCI’s Centre of Excellence some days back.
It means that later this week against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur, the India international will lead RR.
In the IPL 2024, Sanju Samson did lead RR well. He scored 531 runs in 16 matches. They even reached the playoffs, losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ticket to the final game.
