Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given the club’s fans a huge overload after informing through the media, on Tuesday, that Earling Haaland’s injury will take up to seven weeks until fully recovered.
However, on Monday, they were hopeful to see him back in action before the current season ends.
In the FA Cup quarters on Sunday, Man City beat Bournemouth 2-1. However, Haaland met with an ankle injury. As a result, he came off the pitch in the 61st minute.
The 24-year-old striker scored a goal in the 49th minute, making the scoreline level 1-1 before Omar Marmoush scored (63’) the winner for the Sky Blues.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund striker did miss a penalty and two clear chances before getting substituted.
Guardiola said: “They told me the doctors say between five to seven weeks. So hopefully the end of the season and by the Club World Cup he will be ready.”
The 2025 FIFA Cup World Cup will start on June 14, 2025, with the final taking place on July 13.
In overall 40 appearances this season, the Norwegian striker has scored 30 goals.
Despite Man City are struggling overall, he has managed to keep his stats solid.
