Thomas Muller, who has helped Bayern win 12 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League silverware, has decided to end his time with the mega German side after the end of the 2025 FIFA World Cup in the United States (starting June 14).
Muller made his debut for Bayern in 2008 and has scored 247 goals in 743 appearances. No football player has made more apps for Bayern than Muller – 743).
After Gerd Muller (565) and Robert Lewandowski (344), the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner has scored the most goals for the FCB (247).
Other than Bayern, Muller has never played for any other club. Last year, he retired from his national duty having scored 45 times in 131 outings for Germany.
Muller shared this emotional update with the fans on social media platforms.
Muller said: “The club has consciously decided not to negotiate a new contract with me for next season.
“Even if this did not correspond to my personal wishes, it is important that the club follows its convictions. I respect this step, which the board and supervisory board certainly did not take lightly.”
The statement tells that Bayern wanted to part ways with the 35-year-old forward than he wanted to leave the club.
Bayern also thanked Muller by posting a video about his career timeline on Instagram.
