William Saliba is one of the most loved players at Arsenal. The French international has been considered as one of the top centre-backs of the modern era of football.
However, there are possibilities that Saliba might look for the next chapter in his professional life.
And now, Manchester City have joined the race to sign the young defender too (report: Defensa Central).
This means Man City will get the competition from Spanish side Real Madrid to get the rising star.
In the 2022-23 season, he made his debut for the Gunners. However, the Gunners did sign him from Saint-Etienne in 2019 but kept him on loan moves to Saint-Etienne, Marseille and Nice.
In 2023, he did sign a deal until the end of the 2027 season with Arsenal. However, there is no move from Saliba’s side to stay in North London beyond 2027.
In 92 PL outings overall, Saliba has kept 40 clean sheets, scored six goals and provided two assists.
The 24-year-old centre-back made his France debut in 2022. Having 28 caps and running shows how he has become a first-choice defender for his national team.
From U16 to U21, he had represented France from 2017 to 2021.
Even there is no plan of the Gunners to sell Saliba. Hence, not signing the contract extension with Mikel Arteta’s side has become a huge problem for his current club.
