Mohamed Salah, who is one of the top footballers in the world, has signed a two-year new contract deal with Liverpool.
As a result, LFC can use the services of their star forward until the 2027 summer. Early this week, an update came that Salah and Liverpool were very near to signing a new deal.
Otherwise, his contract was running out this summer. Salah, staying in Liverpool. has given fans hope that the club will make a smilier deal with defender Virgil van Dijk, whose contract is expiring in the 2025 summer.
However, the Reds do not see optimism about making right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold stay at the club beyond this season. Trent’s contract also expires in June 2025, having high chances of joining Real Madrid.
Salah, who joined Liverpool in 2017 from AS Roma, is very close to making his beloved club win the second Premier League title.
Arne Slot’s side are in a comfortable position in the English top-flight as they are leading the table with 73 points after 31 games. The gap between LFC and second-placed Arsenal is 11 points.
One of the major reasons for LFC’s clear road to winning the PL is Salah, as the 32-year-old forward has scored 27 goals in just 31 outings.
Staying for another two seasons means Salah can become the first player of the Reds to score 200 or 200 plus goals in the English top-flight.
He has scored 184 times in 294 apps in the PL. 182 of 184 goals, the Egypt international has scored for the Reds.
During his time at Chelsea in the 2013-14 season, he scored twice in the EPL. As seven games are left in the 2024-25 PL season, Salah can come even closer to hitting the 200 or 200-plus mark as an individual and Liverpool player.
The very move also gives him a chance to score 214 PL goals and break second-placed Harry Kane’s 213 goals mark on the most goals scored list.
But to become PL’s all-time leading goalscorer would require Salah to add another 77 goals to surpass Alan Shearer at 260.
Carrying the same form as this year for another two to three seasons can boost the former Basel forward to break Shearer’s record too.
