Mumbai Indians have now lost four of their opening five matches in the Indian Premier League 2025. Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat MI by 12 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday and set a massive pace.
In the IPL 2024, MI won just four games and ended up at the bottom of the table with eight points. Despite making some changes and MI captain Hardik Pandya getting the support of the fans, they are not winning the games with ease.
The five-time IPL winners are missing star bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who is recovering from injury.
After losing yet another match, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene felt that MI should bring the killing instinct.
He said: “With the bat as well, I thought we had a good start but just couldn’t continue.”
Hardik Pandya is performing well with bat and bowl. Against RCB, he took two wickets and scored 42 runs in just 15 balls. But the Mumbai Indians squad, as a whole, are not able to shine well.
