Liverpool defeated Everton 1-0 in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday at Anfield to gain a 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League.
With just eight games left in the 2024-25 PL season, the Reds are very near to win their second-ever Premier League title.
The only competition for LFC left in the English top-flight title challenge is Arsenal, who cut the lead of LFC to nine points on Tuesday after beating Fulham 2-1. However, the Reds won the Merseyside derby and set the lead of 12 points again.
As both of the title contenders in the English top flight have played 30 games, there are just eight more matches left for each side.
The Gunners, with 61 points in 30 matches, can get 85 points at max. It means Liverpool only require 13 more points to win the season with 86 points. They can do it by winning three games and have a draw.
Arne Slot, who became the Reds manager in 2024, is very near to winning the Premier League title in his debut season.
As Liverpool have a better goal difference – currently +43 to +30 – than Arsenal, even adding 12 points can work well to win the season.
Winning the three PL games will make the contest against Tottenham as a potential title-winning match for Slot’s side on 26 April away from home. However, the game against Leicester on April 19 can also be a game where the Reds win the PL title.

The final PL game of Liverpool is at Anfield on May 25, Liverpool will lift the title after playing the game against Crystal Palace. However, they still have some work to do.
Having lost just one of 30 games in the English top flight this season, it seems very likely to see Slot’s side lifting the mega title.
In the 2019-20 season, Jurgen Klopp led Liverpool to win their first-ever PL title. However, it was their 19th English top-flight silverware.
Winning the high-profile league now will make LFC the first side after Manchester United to become the English champions for the 20th time.
The Red Devils last became the champions of England in the 2012-13 season.
