The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and fielding coach T. Dilip from their duties.
Nayar took over the role at the same time Gautam Gambhir became the head coach of India, post the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Other than Nayar and Dilip, the BCCI has revealed six other coaching staff members from their positions to set up fresh faces post-IPL.
After losing the series against Australia and New Zealand, India came back under Gambhir’s leadership stronger and won the ICC Champions Trophy last month.
It means Gambhir will have a new coaching set-up when India face England in a five-match Test series in June.
The decision has been taken after getting the views of Gambhir.
“There are a few changes in the team’s coaching and support staff. It will be officially announced soon,” a BCCI official said.
Shitanshu Kotak took over as the batting coach after losing the series against Australia, which had an impact on Nayar’s future early this year.
Last year, Nayar helped Gambhir lead the Kolkata Knight Riders to win the IPL title.
