Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti thinks there is still a chance for Real Madrid to surpass Arsenal’s 3-0 advantage in the second leg of the Champions League quarters at home.
Arsenal and Real Madrid are hours away from facing each other at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Last week, in the first leg, Declan Rice surprised Real with two perfectly-taken free-kicks. Mikel Merino then scored Arsenal’s third goal and gave them a 3-0 advantage ahead of the second leg.
Ancelotti sees semi-finals doors still a possibility. The Italian said: “If you look at the game [last week] there is no possibility.”
“But nobody expected Rice would score two goals from set-pieces, so in football anything can happen.
“The possibility is low but we have to try 100%.”
Ancelotti did lead Real to win the UCL title last year very well. However, scoring three to four goals and preventing the Gunners not scoring any would be a hard task overall.
However, Real Madrid have a rich history of coming from behind and making a sound impact in Europe.
In the history of European leagues, Ancelotti has been considered the greatest manager of all time.
