Nicholas Pooran blasted 61 runs in 34 balls as the Lucknow Super Giants beat the Gujarat Titans by six wickets.
At the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow won the toss and picked to bowl first. Gujarat openers started things well. Shubman Gill’s 60 and Sai Sudarshan’s 56 runs set the tone for the away side.
As the middle and lower order of GT did not do a decent job, Gill’s side were able to score 180 runs at the cost of six wickets in 20 overs.
LSG captain Rishabh Pant came as an opener with Aiden Markram, who played a match-winning 58 runs.
Even Pant contributed decent runs (21) compared to his form in previous games. In-form Nicholas Pooran blasted 61 runs and won the game for the home side, chasing the 181 total in 19.3 overs.
GT now site second in the IPL table, with eight points after six games. Meanwhile, LSG are third in the IPL table with eight points in six matches too. Only Gujarat’s better run rate puts them ahead of LSG.
