Lucknow Super Giants outsmart Kolkata Knight Riders by just four runs at the Eden Gardens.
Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss at home and chose to bowl first. The decision did not go well for Ajinkya Rahane’s side as the Lucknow Super Giants scored 238/3 in 20 overs.
It was all the top-order show. Aiden Markram (47 runs) and Mitchell Marsh (81) scored a combined 128 runs. Making things even better, T20 star Nicholas Pooran scored a firing 87 runs and took just 36 balls.
The home side did try well, with Sunil Narine’s 30 (runs), Ajinkya Rahane’s 61 and Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 38 making them score 234 runs at the cost of seven wickets in 20 overs.
However, a small gap of four runs made them lose two crucial points.
As things stand, LSG are fourth in the IPL table with six points in five games (winning three).
KKR are holding the sixth position, with four points after five matches (winning just 2 and losing 3).
